1. Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to PDF Scanner: Reader & Editor (the "Application"), provided by Aurora Infotech 2001 (the "Service Provider") as a free service. The Application is intended for use "AS IS" and provides PDF scanning, image-to-PDF conversion, document reading, file viewing, file organization, storage cleanup, wallpaper features, weather information, and launcher-related functionality.

2. Information Collection and Use

When you download and use the Application, we may collect limited technical and usage information to improve stability, performance, and user experience.

  • Device IP address, device model, operating system version, app version, timestamps, feature usage, and time spent using the Application.
  • Device identifiers and advertising identifiers where permitted, used for analytics, attribution, advertising, and fraud prevention.
  • PDF and file metadata such as file size, file type, page count, date, extension, and storage location when needed for scanning, reading, organizing, converting, or cleaning features.
  • Crash logs, diagnostics, and anonymized usage statistics through Firebase, analytics, or similar tools.
  • Information you provide when contacting support, such as your email address and message content.

Document privacy commitment: We do not use your personal documents for marketing. The Application is designed to process selected documents and images for the features you choose. We do not intentionally read or transmit the actual content of your private PDF files, images, or documents unless you explicitly choose a feature that shares, uploads, opens, or exports that content.

3. Core Device Permissions

The Application may request permissions depending on your Android version, device type, and selected features.

Camera

Camera access is used to scan paper documents, receipts, notes, cards, pages, and other physical content into images or PDF files. Camera access is used only for scanning features selected by the user.

Photos, Media, Images, and Storage

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, or similar media permissions may be used to import selected images, convert images into PDF files, extract PDF pages as images, save generated files, and manage files selected by the user.

All Files Access / Manage External Storage

Where supported and requested, MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or broad file access may be used for document management, deep file scanning, duplicate file detection, junk file review, temporary PDF cleanup, batch organization, moving files to selected folders, and related file tools.

When broad storage access is used, the Application is intended to inspect file metadata such as extension, size, date, and location to identify manageable or cleanable items. Cleaning and deletion actions are initiated by the user. You can revoke this access through Android settings.

Notifications

Notification permission may be used to provide app notices, scan status, conversion status, service messages, or related updates where supported.

Network Access

Network access may be used for app services, ads, analytics, crash reporting, updates, weather information, support features, or cloud-connected functionality where available.

Launcher and Home Screen Access

Because the Application is a launcher application, launcher-related access may be used to support home screen layout behavior, shortcuts, app access surfaces, widgets, search surfaces, wallpaper presentation, or related customization features. If set as your default launcher, parts of your home screen experience may change, while installed apps and personal files remain available on your device.

4. Third Party Access

The Application may use third-party service providers for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, app distribution, weather data, cloud-connected features, and platform support. These providers may process limited technical or aggregated data according to their own privacy policies.

  • Google Play Services
  • AdMob or other advertising networks
  • Google Analytics for Firebase
  • Firebase Crashlytics
  • Other analytics, attribution, or advertising partners depending on app version and distribution channel

5. Opt-Out Rights

You can stop information collection by uninstalling the Application. You may also manage permissions such as camera, storage, file access, notifications, and launcher settings through Android device settings. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings where supported.

6. Data Retention Policy

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, support, secure, and improve the Application, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. Files saved on your device remain under your control and may be deleted through the Application or device storage tools where supported.

7. Children

The Application is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information associated with the Application. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Application after changes take effect means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
